Art.

No, no, don't listen to me. Listen.
                        --The Last Unicorn.

This page does not discuss Art because it interferes. It discusses some of the things that Art has taught me, or rather, has told me.

And it talks a little about how to approach art, because for some reason, this is something that has been killed in many people, and in many places. Not that I think it can ever truly be killed...

1. If you are not having fun, you are doing something wrong.  e.g. drudgery. WARNING WARNING stop doing that now. Nature, or whatever, doesn't like drudgery. There are ways to "play" with the chaos, with mistakes. In fact, I think all my "art" comes from making a billion mistakes, picking the ones I like to keep as I go along?

[p.s. I am not an "expert", the moment you become an "expert" you stop learning. I just have noticed that a lot of people, as I have already said, have been brainwashed that only "experts" can do art, like Michelangelo, right? That's B.S. I may dispense alot of my philosophy in this page, and I hope that it's the right thing to do. I just want to tell the world to stop thinking this way, because it's pointless pain. Art is always for a reason. A good one, if possible. Without that-- that meaning to us-- it is just inanimate material. Art becomes animated in us. AND I FOR ONE....think that there is alot more to community art than elite art. ok, back to my lecture?

STOP DROP AND ROLL. yeah. ok

The only other thing you need to know, is that if you'll listen, T'ien [just my word for the divine inspiration of the universe, a Chinese god that was supposed to be good-- don't worry about it] will tell you anything you need to know. Just trust, let go, leap off the cliff even if you don't know where it's going at first, and things willBsew cool. If you listen, you'll know what you in particular need to do! Just sometimes we don't want to, as that quiet perspective may be telling us things we don't want to bother with. But if you listen, you won't ever go wrong. e.g. I sometimes listen when she tells me to shut up and listen. And the more you follow it, the easier it shallB.

RECYCLE DAMMIT! YOU GUYS ALL SUCK!

T'ien is gentle. She's all about loving yourself, and being honest about your real shortcomings, so you can go around them (and with them). If you trust her and use your imagination, you'll be protected. If you don't, you'll keep dragging against the rocks until it really starts to hurt.

Real media is awesome, because it really is like there are lessons, patterns in everything. with clay, you have water, and soil which drip and run, or whatever. You do have to go with it, align yourself positively for your creation to happen. So that is why "Art" is wonderful for the mind. Ever seen Karate Kid? It's sort of like that. [Wax on, wax off.]

Ok, that's enough lecturing. But the thing I wish you please to know is this. Trust yourself (or her, whatever), not other people over that. Then you'll be a leader.
